Pittsburgh Researchers Make Important Pulmonary Hypertension Discovery

November 14th, 2008 · No Comments

A group of Pittsburgh researchers have made an important discovery that will hopefully result in significant health benefits to individuals diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension.

The researchers have discovered that a simple new blood test will allow them to track the progression of the disease far more easily than before.  Pulmonary hypertension has no cure, and currently there are only about 4,000 people suffering from primary pulmonary hypertension.  However, early detection and quick treatment are critical for anyone diagnosed with this serious condition.

With this new test, doctors will be able to determine quickly who does or does not have the disease, how severe the disease is, and its progression.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension, contact the PPH attorneys of Williams Kherkher today at 866-950-9000 to discuss the circumstances of the illness and possible causes.
