Researchers at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons have announced a new breakthrough in the fight to treat primary pulmonary hypertension. A recent study of 405 PPH patients that was headed by Dr. Robyn J. Barst suggests that Cialis (generic name tafalafil) may have uses beyond its intended purpose of treated erectile dysfunction. In the study, patients were divided into three groups and given Cialis, a placebo, or a combination of Cialis and another drug commonly used to treat hypertension. The results showed that patients taking Cialis had increased quality of life, higher functioning, and slower progression of the disease. Participants only had to take the drug once a day to show improvement.
The medical, emotional, and financial consequences of this serious disorder can be severe. If you or a loved one has developed primary pulmonary hypertension due to a faulty product, contact the PPH attorneys Williams Kherkher at 866-950-9000 to discuss your case.
