More Avandia Lawsuits Filed

September 9th, 2008 · No Comments

Over a dozen new Avandia lawsuits were filed in late August, after many more people have suffered the dangerous effects of Avandia, a drug meant to treat diabetes. The new lawsuits have one common claim - patients were never warned about the dangerous effects of the drug.

Many people have developed a heart condition known as primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH) as a result of using GlaxoSmithKline’s Avandia. The Food and Drug Administration has been investigating the drug and has concluded that diabetics taking Avandia have a much higher risk of suffering a heart attack.

According to one of the new lawsuits, the warnings on the drug were “vague, incomplete, or otherwise inadequate.” GlaxoSmithKline also states that Avandia has the ability to reduce cardiovascular risk, which the FDA has never concluded about any oral diabetic medication.

Those suffering from the dangerous health effects of Avandia should speak with a PPH lawyer right away. Contact the PPH lawyers of Williams Kherkher today by calling 866-950-9000.
