Teva gets FDA Approval for Pulmonary Hypertension

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries announced that the Federal Food and Drug Administration approved their new drug application for a generic pulmonary hypertension drug.   Teva’s drug, Epoprostenol, is a version of GlaxoSmithKline’s Flolan for Injection.  Although the drug will not cure pulmonary hypertension, it will help improve the symptoms and quality of life for patients.

Fen-Phen Lawyers Awarded $412 Million

Teenager Awaits Lung Transplant for Pulmonary Hypertension

A Massachusetts teenager, Cassie Tessier, is awaiting a double lung transplant that will save her life.  Tessier currently has a pill regiment four times a day, frequent blood transfusions, oxygen supplementation, and has a pump that helps move the medication more efficiently into her heart.
